Day 112: New England Patriots v Seattle SeaHawks

To get warmed up for the NFL game today, we started off by going to the Banshee pub in South Boston because they opened at 9am to show the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. A 1-0 win to the Gunners was a great start to the day.

We then headed out to Foxboro about 45kms from Boston to Gillette Stadium which is the home of the New England Patriots. They were playing the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the season.

Even though the stadium wasn’t completely full it was a very loud crowd particularly when Seattle had the ball as they tried to make it hard for them to call and hear their plays.

It was a close game all day with no side getting more than a touchdown in front. Seattle tied the game with 40 seconds remaining and then went on to win in overtime 23-20.

It was good fun and we learned more about tactics from the friendly guy in the seat beside us.

Getting back to Boston was a bit of an ordeal though because basically all 50,000 spectators drive to the game (the stadium is in the middle of nowhere) so the roads were clogged for a couple of hours.
