An epic trip to major sporting events throughout Europe & the USA

Day 100: Washington DC

The day started for Mamfa with a run around the Capital Building and along the National Mall.

It was then a walk back past the Capital to visit the Smithsonian museums and galleries on the south side of the National Mall. First up was the impressive new building housing the Museum of the American Indian. Some good art displays and sections outlining various treaties that were signed – and then generally broken soon after by the government.

Next stop was the Air and Space Museum which had more than half the building closed for a major renovation not due to be completed until 2026. The Wright Brothers display was fascinating and they have the actual plane that took the first flight.

The Travel to the Moon exhibition was also really interesting and they have the actual command module that came back to earth from the first moon landing.

The Hirshhorn Museum was a modern art gallery with the usual mix of good and crap.

It was then a walk down to the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial.

Final stop was the White House.
