An epic trip to major sporting events throughout Europe & the USA

Day 92: London

Started the day with a visit to the Postal Museum which had a mail rail train that you ride through the tunnels that run under London. It ran as a mail service for 90 years until late 90s.

On the mail rail

There as an interesting display about the history of the mail rail and also the postal service as a whole. Apparently all the post boxes were originally green, but people complained they blended in with the forests too much so they changed to red.

We then wandered down through Smithfield Market (the meat market) to Leadenhall Market which was the setting for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter movies.

There were some other interesting buildings on the way back to the hotel.

It was then a quick stop via Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross Station to see all the Harry Potter fans trying to run through a wall.

We then headed out to Kingston to stay with Gabi (who we met on the Baltics bike ride) and her two daughters Molly and Charlotte. They were great hosts.
