An epic trip to major sporting events throughout Europe & the USA

Day 90: London

It was a 4-hr train ride from Edinburgh to London this morning to make sure we got there in time for some more sport.

There was just time to check-in to the hotel before hoofing it out to The Valley – Charlton Athletic’s home ground for a League One football clash with Bolton Wanderers (both former Premier League clubs).

The crowd was excited about their good start to the season and the team delivered with a 2-0 win. It was a quite different experience to the Arsenal game with smaller crowd, no bag checks getting in, seats up close to the ground and mostly real, passionate Charlton fans (except us but we were for the day). There was lots of singing and chanting, especially after they won.

“Let’s go red army”

It was then back the central London to find a pub showing the Arsenal v Aston Villa game. It was 2-0 to Arsenal again which is three 2-0 wins we’ve watched in a row. If anyone needs a lucky mascot, give me a call.

It was then a quick view of The Shard to end the day.
