Today was a big day of the sporting tour as Mamfa got to see Arsenal play Wolves at Emirates Stadium in the first round of the Premier League season. One of the trip highlights.
First up however was ParkRun with Eleanor at Beckton Park.

It was then off to Covent Garden for lunch at a pub with Strutt family of Mike and Tina and their three adult children Eleanor, Henry and Will. A very raucous and fun lunch.

Then a dash out to Emirates Stadium. A great atmosphere in a packed stadium. A 2-0 win in which Arsenal were clearly the better side was also a bonus.

We then headed back into Leicester Square to catch up with Mawfa and our friend Jim Gillon who came down from Newcastle for the weekend. It was great to see him in person for the first time in 19 years (previously in Vietnam). We had a drink and then met up with Eleanor and Ross for a great tapas dinner at Custom House.

This day in sporting history (17 August)
