An epic trip to major sporting events throughout Europe & the USA

Day 72: Paris Olympics Day 3

Today’s first event was the men’s 3m springboard diving qualification. 30 divers doing six dives each. These were cheap last minute restricted view seats so we couldn’t see the final entry into the water for 2 of the 3 diving boards, due to a camera position, but you could see everything above that so it was still great to watch. The Aussie diver qualified for the next round as well.

It was then back into central Paris to the Eiffel Tower for the beach volleyball with a few shots of a steel thing first.

The beach volleyball was two men’s quarterfinals. The first was Germany too good for the Dutch 2-0 and the second was the young dynamic Swedes too good for the enormous older Brazilians 2-0. Good atmosphere again and great setting next to Eiffel Tower.

Final activity was to go see the Olympic flame rise with the hot air balloon. The place was packed but the sight was worth it.

And up she goes!
