Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. It is a series of crystal clear blue and green lakes connected by a multitude of waterfalls in a spectacular forested setting. It was “wow” all day as we walked, took a boat ride and a bus around the park over 5 hours.
The boardwalks and stairs all blended with the natural environment as they were all rough-sawn natural timber construction. The weather was absolutely perfect as well.
There are a lot of photos below and they still don’t fully capture how beautiful the place is.

We then took the bus to Split on the Croatian coast. We entered the old city through the Diocletian Castle basement which was the dragon’s dungeon in the filming of Game of Thrones. After wandering around a bit lost in tiny alleyways we finally found our accommodation which was directly above the dragon dungeon.
