An epic trip to major sporting events throughout Europe & the USA

Day 55: Zagreb

Mamfa started the day with a run then we ventured out to the Nikolai Tesla Technical Museum. The Tesla section was quite interesting (Tesla was Croatian) with good demonstrations of his inventions including AC power motors and the world’s first remote controlled boat among other important discoveries that goes over my head (electrical / communications stuff).

The other parts of the Museum included transport (where I got ride a penny farthing) and a coal mine.

We then journeyed out to the airport to greet Mawfa (middle-aged woman from Ashburton). Mamfa was very happy. It will be all three of us for the next five weeks so I might have to get used to being ignored every now and then.

We visited the Museum of Illusions which had some mind-bending displays.

Multi-multi-multi everything
I’m getting dizzy!

We then did a walk around the old area of Zagreb which included the Museum of Broken Relationships. A curious museum which had items collected from people that were connected to their broken relationship along with a short description of why.

Finished with delicious meal of grilled meat and veggies.
