Today started with a short ride to the ferry and hanging out with some statues.

The ferry landed on the Curonian Spit which is a 100km long by 0.4-4km wide sand peninsula that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. There northern half of the Spit is in Lithuania while the southern half is part of the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. The majority is national park with some great cycling paths.

Our lunch stop was at a local fisherman’s house where he provided traditional smoked fish (mackerel, perch and turbot) to share. Mamfa and the gang had to pull it apart with their fingers to eat. He seemed to really like it but I wasn’t impressed with his stinky fingers on me for the rest of the day.
We visited an Amber Museum (amber is found locally) which had some amazing creations and finished our ride in Nida which was only 2km from the Russian border, Total ride today was 49km.
