A fairly relaxed day around Boston today starting with a wander through Harvard (which is actually in Cambridge). The John Harvard Statute of Three Lies is named such because it isn’t John Harvard (no one knows what he looked like), he wasn’t even the founder of the Uni and the date on the statue is out by two years.

We then went into Boston and walked the Greenway which is a park built over an underground freeway that replaced an elevated freeway known as the Big Dig project that finished 9 years late and 3 times the budget.

Next up was a Boston Duck Tour which was a ride on a bus that also operated as a boat and sailed into the Charles River. A very informative and funny guide made for an enjoyable tour.

The tour also gave us the opportunity to see where it would be good to have a walk so we finished the day wandering the Public Gardens and Boston Common, which included the bar that was the setting for the TV show Cheers (the outside anyway).

Mamfa finished reading We are experiencing a slight delay by Gary Janetti – 3 stars.
