A more local day today exploring Central Park and surrounds.

We also found Balto and a very tired squirrel.

It was then time for some culture with a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (“The Met”). It is a huge place with very extensive collections – some really interesting and some not (like most art museums).

We wandered up to the Guggenheim Museum but just for Mamfa to look at the structure (one art museum per day is enough).

Finished the day with watching Deadpool and Wolverine at a cinema that was basically a private showing.

This day in sporting history (30 August)
1972 Australian teenage swimmer Shane Gould with a world record 4:19.04 for the 400m, wins her second of 3 gold medals at the Munich Olympics
