An epic trip to major sporting events throughout Europe & the USA

Day 5: UAE to France

Leaving the heat behind, we flew off to France, arriving in Paris to rain and 15 degree weather – just like Melbourne.

Some key facts about France

  • Population – 68M
  • Capital City – Paris
  • National Sport – Football
  • Summer Olympic Gold Medals – 223
  • Winter Olympic Gold Medals – 41
  • Highest Ever FIFA World Ranking – 1st
  • Most Famous Sportperson – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinedine_Zidane (Football)

Not happy about leaving the beautiful 38 degree days of UAE for the drizzle of Paris, I stayed in the hotel and let Mamfa go wandering in the late afternoon. Too cold and wet for my scaly little backside.

Notre Dame is still undergoing renovation since the fire so Mamfa couldn’t get in to see anything and just stood in the rain. Reminded him of Afa and Jafa 10 years ago not wanting to visit “a boring church”. Good thing those grumpy kids that day turned into lovely young adults or I would have scampered off on an adventure of my own years ago.
